Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson said that He tried Steroids in College
“I tried it,” Johnson said. “Me & my buddies tried it back in the day when I was 19 or 18, but we didn’t know what we were doing.”
Now the real question is – is he still using anabolics? To find continue reading our article.
According to Forbes Magazine, Dwayne Johnson (also called The Rock) is the world’s highest-paid actor. He can command over $20 million per movie. Wikipedia indicates that films by Dwayne Johnson have earned over $10 billion worldwide. That makes him one of the highest-grossing actors. He received $5 million for his first film, ‘The Scorpion King.’ That was an exceptionally high amount for an actor’s debut role.
The Rock has starred in many successful films, including Fast & Furious, Rampage, Hercules, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and Tooth Fairy. He starred in and produced The Ballers, which became HBO’s most-watched comedy show for six years.
Dwayne Johnson is ranked as one of the greatest WWE stars of all time. He is a 10-time WWE World Champion and a 5-time tag-team champion. Some of the most-watched WWE episodes ever featured Johnson.
The Rock is also a successful bodybuilder. Dwayne is known for spending a lot of time in the gym. He trains six days a week. His exercise routine starts at around 4:00 am when he wakes up and runs for 30-50 minutes. After breakfast, he starts exercising in the gym. According to Johnson, he trains a specific body area every day.
Does The Rock Use Steroids?
In an interview with Fortune Magazine, The Rock documents to reporter Daniel Roberts the struggles that he has had to overcome in his life to become a success story. He talks about what motivates him to work and some of the projects that he is currently dealing with, including his production company, 7 Bucks Entertainment.
During the interview, the subject of Dwayne Johnson steroids came up. In the past, he had admitted in an MTV interview in 2009 that he had used steroids when he was younger. However, in this interview, Johnson clearly states that apart from a small period of experimentation in his youth, he has led a steroid-free life.
Johnson said that many naysayers want to negate the hard work behind his amazing physique by attributing it to Dwayne Johnson’s steroids. He stated that training is his anchor and his body is a result of working out daily in the gym and setting goals, and working towards realizing them.
However, at 48 years, he is in better shape than most people who are half his age. This makes many people wonder whether he is genuine about not currently using steroids. Most people in the online community don’t believe him.
It might be true that Johnson has never used steroids since his teenage years. It might also be a lie, and he might be deliberately lying so that not to set a bad example to the many young people who look to him as a role model.
Dwayne’s Physique Changes over the Years
One of the best ways of spotting a steroid user is to investigate how their body has changed over the years.
Steroid users can easily bulk up in less than five years. In the case of natural bodybuilders, they need more time to achieve their goals. The Rock’s transformation has been rather quick since he left wrestling. He seems to be getting better day after day, which is not possible with natural bodybuilding.
Since his WWE days, he has burned up excess fat while adding high-quality mass. He has almost zero body fat and a perfectly ripped appearance than was the case when he was a WWE star.
It is difficult for a natty to keep body fat levels at such a low level while gaining significant mass. Dwayne’s skull also appears larger than in the past. His muscles have a more synthetic appearance. A sure sign of steroid use is the synthetic look.
Are These the Signs That Dwayne Johnson is Using Steroids?
Dwayne Johnson doesn’t have some of the common signs of steroid use, such as the growth of acne and HCG belly. However, signs that he has, including an enlarged skull, huge traps, and flushed skin, are related to steroid use.
Enlarged Skull
The Rock’s skull wasn’t always this big. It appears to have increased in size since his WWE days. Also, it has a square shape compared to before.
The skull’s growth is a sign of HGH usage. Johnson may have been using HGH for some time. However, he has been using it in moderate amounts; that explains why he doesn’t have a distended stomach (HGH gut) like most bodybuilders who are using steroids.
Another reason to explain Johnson’s lack of a protruding gut is that he might not be combining insulin and HGH. The bloated belly effect has been observed in many famous bodybuilders, including Kai Green, Dorian Yates, Kali Muscle, and Ronnie Coleman. However, some have escaped this dreaded side effect, including The Rock, Dexter Jackson, and Chul Soon (a famous Korean bodybuilder who uses steroids.)
Huge Traps
The Rock’s trapezius muscles don’t look like that of a natural bodybuilder but like that of someone who is using steroids. Dwayne’s traps stand out from his muscular body. It is rare for a natural bodybuilder to have overgrown traps, but that is very common for steroid users.
The trapezius region has a high number of androgen receptors that easily respond to steroids. During a steroid cycle, muscle growth will first occur in the upper body.
For those who are using steroids with a high androgen rating, such as Trenbolone and Dianabol, the traps will blow up, like the case for Dwayne Johnson.
The above evidence indicates that The Rock might be a steroid user.
Flushed Skin
Twenty years ago, The Rock had lighter skin than he currently has. His skin has gotten darker with the progression of time. That can be blamed on elevated body temperature caused by steroids. In a white man, that will cause the skin to become red/pink. The Rock is a black Samoan. That is why his skin became darker instead of red.
Both men and women require testosterone to build muscle. It is the primary male hormone that is responsible for sexuality and masculinity. Men have more testosterone than women. That is why they are muscular. Steroids increase testosterone levels. Testosterone increase above a certain level makes the levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) spike. LDL is responsible for high blood pressure and hypertension. High blood pressure elevates body temperature.
Every year, more men suffer cardiac arrest than women because their higher testosterone levels make them have elevated levels of bad cholesterol.
Anabolic Steroids & WWE
In his wrestling days, steroids were common in WWE. Hulk Hogan, one of the most famous WWE wrestlers of all time, admitted to using steroids during his wrestling career. Wrestlers such the Edge, Johnny Morrison, Randy Orton, and Rey Mysterio have in the past tested positive for steroids. These are the wrestlers that The Rock regularly faced during his wrestling career when he won ten WWE champions. The Rock might have used steroids to gain a competitive advantage.
Anabolics & Hollywood
In Hollywood, the key to onscreen six-packs and bulging biceps is anabolic steroids. They are used by many A-list actors. A growing list of Hollywood stars is turning to HGH. It is the steroid of choice for celebrities who want to burn fat, bulk fast, boost energy and improve complexion. From Tom Cruise to Mark Wahlberg, celebrities use steroids to help them achieve the kind of body required for leading movie roles.
Just like other A-list actors, Dwayne Johnson might have used steroids to achieve that perfect look required for top movie roles.
Which Steroids is The Rock Using?
• Human Growth Hormone (HGH)
• Testosterone
In his wrestling days, Johnson might have used testosterone to increase his size and muscle mass. Steroids are common in WWE. Even for a wrestler who managed to be big naturally, they can decide to use steroids to dwarf their competition, gain the competitive edge, and appear as the alpha male in the ring; especially if it is someone who has already experimented with steroids as a teenager such as Dwayne Johnson.
Testosterone helped The Rock to achieve the huge traps required to be a WWE superstar. In WWE, size matters, and it is used to scare competitors.
After completing his wrestling career, Johnson focused on bodybuilding and losing fat. He used HGH to reduce his body fat while achieving a ripped appearance. Moderated HGH use facilitated massive muscle gains for Johnson without side effects such as HGH belly and acne.
Dwayne Johnson might have also used other steroids such as:
• Trenbolone
• Dianabol
The fact that he has a huge upper body shows that Johnson might have used Trenbolone at some point in his life. This is a very androgenic steroid, and it is known for facilitating the massive growth of the traps. It greatly boosts nitrogen retention, blood cell count, and protein synthesis. Trapezius muscles have many androgen receptors, which tend to respond well to steroids such as Trenbolone.
The Rock might have combined Trenbolone with Dianabol because, in most cases, Tren can’t be used alone. This allowed him to maximize the gains while minimizing the side effects. Dianabol can help with preventing water retention, and it also increases strength and muscle mass.
The Bottom-Line:
Is Dwayne Johnson a Steroid User?
There is sufficient evidence to support the fact that The Rock is still using steroids. He previously admitted that he only used them for two weeks when he was 18. That seems not to be the case because the way his body blew up after leaving WWE while maintaining little body fat shows that he was using steroids, and he is still using them.
Despite Dwayne’s steroid use, that isn’t a reason to victimize him. He remains one of the greatest actors and wrestlers of all time. His amazing body transformation has a lot to do with hard work, genetics, and dieting. Johnson has dedicated his life towards a healthy lifestyle of working out six days a week and having a clean diet. Therefore, steroids are not the only reason for his remarkable physique.
